SWRMXS Description
Written by Alex
Wednesday, 24 November 2010 22:04

“SWRMXS” is a remixed version of HIM’s 2010 album "Screamworks: Love In Theory and Practice." This marks the first time the band has released a full length remix album and it features collaborations with some of the biggest names in electronic music today.

Also featured are collaborations with new stars on the electronic scene and remixes by Ville Valo himself.

1. In Venere Veritas (Huoratron Remix) Huoratron is the brainchild of Finish electronic music producer Aku Raski. He began doing remixes in 2003 and is known for producing what has been referred to as Game Boy Music, which is produced using a game system of the Game Boy line.

2. In The Arms Of Rain (SALEM Remix) Salem is a mid-west band from Traverse City, Michigan who gained fast popularity with their 2008 debut, Yes I Smoke Crack. Originally a solo project began by John Holland in 2006, Salem now also includes Heather Marlatt and Jack Donoghue.

3. The Foreboding Sense of Impending Happiness (Morgan Page Remix) Morgan Page is a progressive house and electro house DJ from Los Angeles. His most widely recognized track is "The Longest Road," feat. Lissie, which was included on his debut album Elevate, released in March 2008. The Deadmau5 remix was nominated for a Grammy (Best Remixed Recording, Non-Classical).

4. Ode to Solitude (Gavin Russom Remix) Gavin Russom is a producer and musician who has released music under various guises over the years, including Black Leotard Front, Black Meteoric Star and The Crystal Ark, as as well as collaborative work with Delia Gonzalez. Russom also has also designed and built custom analog synthesizers for both his own music and for others'.

5. Heartkiller (The Mercyfvcks Remix) The Mercy Fvcks is a side project and Ville Valo and another way for him to stretch his creativity.

6. Love, The Hardest Way (Tiesto Remix) DJ Tiesto is a Dutch musician, DJ and record producer. His many productions, remixes and performances (including the opening ceremony at the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens, Greece) has lead to him being widely regarded as the number one DJ in the world.

7. Shatter Me With Hope (oOoOO Remix) Based in San Francisco, CA, oOoOO (Christopher Dexter Greenspan) started as a blog phenomenon and grew into a sought after remixer. Yet he remains mysterious by insisting that in the age of the internet, names and biographical details are less important than visual and sonic codes.

8. Dying Song (Jay Lamar & Jesse Oliver Remix) Fresh off their collaboration on Robyn feat. Royksopp's "None of Dem", Jay Lamar & Jesse Oliver (Ville's brother) collaborate again on "Dying Song".

9. Disarm Me (With Your Loneliness) (VV Remix)

10. Scared To Death (Diamond Cut Remix) Diamond Cut is a New York City outfit whose production and remix credits include Futurecop!, M'Black and Super Mal.

11. Acoustic Funeral / Like St. Valentine / Katherine Wheel (OO Megamix) OO consists of Ville and his brother Jesse Oliver.

SWRMXS preview and upcoming video, DL tour
Written by Alex

Maybe most of You have already heard In Venere Veritas (Huoratron Remix), which is on the main page of www.heartagram.com. It sounds quite bizzare so everything is just about taste...there are a few quite good  moments, but if you don't like it there is no need to curse about it and the band as well. Ville wanted for a long time to do a remix album so we can be only happy about it. Everything else does not matter. The music is his, so he can deal with it as he wishes.
On the other hand Scared To Death (Diamond Cut Remix) is also available now, and I'm quite fond of it actually. It's pleasant but doesn't really stand out with anything special.

Eugene Riecansky is director of the video Scared To Death, which the band filmed in the beginning of the year in Melbourne, Australia. More interesting is that in  his twitter account he posted a secret project with HIM that he is working on right now. Of course, obviously, it has to do with a new video probably from the remix album, but wether this is true or just another rumour, we'll find out in 2 weeks period!

This is the Promo picture of Daniel Lioneye for the upcoming tour in 2011. At the moment the guys are rehearsing quite intensively!  ;-]

The picture is taken by Toni Marie Iommi.

So from today you will be able to purchase SWRMXS. The price of the CD is 14$, but if you wish to get the limited eddition wich includes a t-shirt with the cover, you will pay 25$.

Here is the most interesting news for today :) Let's hope that very soon the whole Tiesto remix will be available. As you will nitice yourselve the track number 11 consists of three songs. For some of us that wouldn't be so appealing, for others would be. Let's wait and hear and we'll talk about it afterwards because many people reacted quite harshly already about the remix album.

Because Ville's got a birthday this month, I decided the best video of November to be connected to that little fact :p The video at the bottom is ripped from the Finnish TV which organized back at that day Ville's birthday. It was his 23 d birthday and the songs that they play are from the upcoming then new album - Razorbade Romance. The guys play a few songs, Ville blows the candles, a bit of presents and so on... ;)

Originally me and Steam thought that we could have a poll every month so that to chose your favourite monthly video! We may do it in time but for now we count on you to publish in this THEME in th eforum your proposals! Do not forget to give your mark for the video via voting (the stars), as well as to leave your comment about it. We may broadcast very soon one Himmania Radio session ( 'as in the good old days'), but all that is up to you. ;)

For October this is the choice! We'll try in future to keep chose those kind of videos with good quality, not so largly available in the network and of course ones that haven't been played for years.  As a start line let's see a pro-shot video from 2002, ripped just a month after the gig in Bulgaria. Also exactly at that gig the band played a song of their next album Love Metal. The song they played was Soul On Fire.

No Tavastia this year!
Written by Alex
Friday, 08 October 2010 20:36
Mini sensation! After 11 years of traditional New Year's concerts at Tavastia, HIM broke down this so-called custom! The last few years it was known under the name of Helldone and the mini tour around Finland that they used to do was quite successful. This year though the guys will be able to celebrate not as colleagues but as friends ( although, in their case its the same thing). No worries - they haven't split or at least they haven't announced it yet :D , but in my opinion this is slightly possible to happen so they wouldn't really split just because of one "weak" album. The bad thing is that the weak albums became too many :D I'm joking...he, Ville loves to talk these stuff... in his opinion even Dark Light is weak although they broke all the rеcords back in Finland. And yet, it is true that for most of us this album can't reach masterpieces like the first works... Screamworks, ot the other hand, was just not well promoted!Tthe first time when I played it actually I was terrified and completely dissapointed. The songs seemed to me so much the same and uninteresting that I even didn't pay attention listening...in fact I'm talking about the first 6 songs. To me, personally ,from Katherine Wheel till the end- these are some of the most genius works that the band had created! But instead of releasing for singles songs like Disarm Me, Like St Valentine, Katherine Wheel, Ode To Solitude,  they chose the most plain and weak ones.
However, the  bad thing is that Ville counted too much on this particular album before it was out and was hoping for great success ( or at least he kept mentioning it in the interviews) but nothing like this happened... actually the controversal - it seems like  it is the worst seller in their whole dyscography. looks like they have to overthing some aspects and they will have the time for that now. at this tage they have stayed quite and seems like are taking a break, not doing much. i really hope that next year they will surprise us with a new material....incognito maybe...without much to say, all those things that lie inside their minds and hearts and just like BAAAAAM!!!But it is unlikely...let's see what Ville will say in the next interview...they surely have to make one by the end of the year so that to unveal what are their plans from now on...

And now bits about Linde! Just like Danny Fiels says in the beginning of 2011 Cradle Of Filth will tour shortly around USA and  Daniel Lioneye will accompany them. For now it is not official but the last info from Linde about that was "still working hard to find a way to make the good news happen!"

And some surprises!
As you know ville plays as Moto Moto in Madagascar 2. In HIMTube you will find parts of the Finnish version.

And this is a very seldomly available version of Gone With The Sin. It was edited primary for germany. There are scenes from the normal version, as well as some extra scenes with naked bodies!

After the summer
Written by Alex
Tuesday, 21 September 2010 14:37
What new? Well not much at all!
Apart from the news that Linde got engaged to Toni-Marie Iommi - the daughter of the guitar legend playing in Black Sabbath - Toni Iommi.

lindstrom_toni-marie_iommi

Linde has a daughter at the age of 7, named Olivia. The mother is  Mariam "Manna" Jäntti, who is actually in the music fields as well and has two full albums released. They never got married. For more information che out here - Bibliography.

As for the band there's not much to be said. Weak summer tour, no tour dates for the fall, even weaker sales of Screamworks and nothing for the last single Scared to Death.
Just to mention as a comparison that in Finland Venus Doom, who was thought to be not so successful, were sold ~23 000 copies. From Screamworks  to that very moment are sold about за ~16 000, while back in the days  Razorblade Romance reached 100 000 copies, and only the single Join me - 30 000! Such a pity!... The album did not deserve such a poor faith but the managers seem to not trully care....

Linde, on the other hand achieved a great success with his side heavy project - Линде Daniel Lioneye. There is a small chance that he will tour during the spring in Finland and UK, but let's wait and see...

What could we expect in future? Me, personally, am hoping after the failiar of Screamworks that Ville will get over it as soon as possible and start working on new stuff. Do not worry too much. There is no information about new album or songs or whatever but it has always been thins way with him...after finishing something, he starts working on something brand new and so on, and so forth...
They most probably will perform for a few concerts around New Year and fingers crossed that by then we will be aware what is going on in there heads for the future...

Maybe some of you have watched the movie Smallville!? It seems like in one of the episodes they have used Wicked Game!
